Worcester Twinning Association was formed n April 1987 and is now twinned with the communities of Kleve - Germany (1987), Le Vesinet - France (1994), Worcester - USA (1999) and Ukmergé - Lithuania (2011).

In 2006 Worcester entered into a Friendship Pact with another French town, Vernon, where the Worcestershire regiment established a bridgehead in August 1944, which led to the liberation of Northern France and the Low Countries. See pictures in photo gallery.

As part of the WW1 commemoration, Worcester was also temporarily twinned with Gouzeaucourt in France. This was promoted by the City Council in 2013 for the duration of the centenary of WW1 and has now been extended until 1 February 2021, the centenary of the adoption of this village by Worcester in 1921.  Subsequently it was decided to make Gouzeaucourt a full twin in 2021.

Twinning arrangements are managed by the City of Worcester Twinning Association, a voluntary self-funding body, independent of Worcester City Council, from whom it receives no money.

Membership of the Association is open to anyone interested in improving international relations.

Members benefit from regular newsletters, social activities, and the opportunity to travel abroad and make lasting friendships by exchange visits to our twin towns.
